Our intention has always been to build brew pubs of the highest quality in New Zealand.

Here in Orewa, we set out to produce a vibrant, comfortable environment where locals could step away from the mass produced beers of New Zealand’s market and enjoy local, small batch, hand crafted, flavour fuelled brews, with equally exciting high quality meals.

Conveniently located underneath Ramada Suites Nautilus building in Orewa.

Shoreward

Shoreward is Orewa’s newest Gastro style pub which offers a great bar with snacks, excellent venue for sports events to be enjoyed with a selection of ice cold beers.

All of our food is made fresh on-site. We make our own burgers patties, sauces, chowder etc…we even hand-cut our own chips!

Shoreward is very family friendly so is a great place to catch up with some friends and with quite a bit of booth seating its a great place to bring the kids for a bite to eat.

Quiz nights are also on the cards and don’t forget the great food we serve. Over weekends we have bands or DJ’s bringing the vibes to you live.

At Shoreward we pride ourselves on our great atmosphere, pints of beer and great tasting food.

 

 

 

The Ship & Anchor

The Ship and Anchor is THE family restaurant in the heart of Orewa Beach.

Here you will find a fabulous variety of food like fresh seafood, steak, chicken and vegetarian dishes.

A variety of beers on tap and an array of fine wines are available daily.

The Ship & Anchor is directly across the road from the beach, and it’s alfresco dining appeal makes it a popular place for people to meet for a drink or two.

Day Trips

Glass Bottom Boat – Goat Island Leigh

Only 45 mins drive from Orewa, the number one attraction in Leigh, the Glass Bottom Boat Tour provides a fun and educational adventure for guests of all ages.

During this 45-minute eco-tour, you will see the fish, fauna, marine life and birds that thrive in this protected reserve, as well as the mysterious caves and sea-battered rocky cliffs of Goat Island.

Direct boarding from the beach allows guests to stay dry throughout the entire journey – making it a perfect activity during any season!

For our visitors keen to have a closer look at the Reserve’s marine life, we have kayaks and snorkel gear available for hire on the beach.

The Kayak & Snorkel Hire does operate seasonally, during the warmer months.

Whangaparaoa Golf Club

Whangaparaoa Golf Club is only 15-20 mins drive from Ramada Suites Nautilus Orewa.

This is a fantastic 18 hole golf course which will delight golfers of all experience levels.

Situated among rolling hills and beautiful pines, the course is one that every golfer visiting the area must play!

Carts are available for hire and advice from the local pros is always available.

Wainui Golf Club

Orewa Beach

Only 15 minutes north of Albany and 30 minutes from Auckland’s CBD, this growing beach-side town continues to create new experiences for relaxation and adventure – you can eat, shop and play – all in one beautiful location.

Quickly becoming known as the most vibrant ‘hospitality precinct’ in the area, you can eat at a different place every day for a month and never visit the same place twice, with cuisine options from across the globe, to suit all tastes.

When there is even a hint of wind, sails of both kite and wind surfers line the waters edge of the pristine 3km long beach.  Summer brings families to enjoy boogie boarding, beach volleyball, cycle the 7km long Te Area Tahuna track, kayak the estuary, walk through Eaves Bush Scenic Reserve, meander through the Estuary Arts Centre, enjoy some boutique shopping or enjoy the competition standard skate park.

Silverdale Adventure Park – Auckland

Is the family restless and needing a little inspiration or a change of scene?

Why not explore Auckland’s newest amusement and theme park with plenty of excitement and entertainment for the entire family.

Activities include, Luge, Vertical Bungee, Zipline, Tubeslide, 7D cinema, Cosmic Playzone, Area51 and much more.

If you are able to go early in the morning, you’ll tend to reap the rewards of more rides before it gets too busy!

Snowplanet

At Snowplanet , one of Auckland’s top attractions, you’ll find over 8,000 square metres of the real thing. So you’ve got heaps of room for skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing and games.

It’s the perfect weekend activity or school holiday idea.

We’re open late with night-time activities for teenagers and young adults – and with the terrain park changing every week, there’s no shortage of fresh challenges for skiers and snowboarders.

After you’ve worn the kids out with all that fun in the snow, you can relax and recharge your batteries in the comfy restaurant (complete with large brick fireplace and views of the snowy slopes).

Never skied before? Not a problem.

We run ski lessons with skilled instructors to get you going. There are after-school and school holiday programmes too. Plus we have race and freestyle programmes for those of you who want to take snow sports a tad more seriously.

Ten Pin Bowling – Whangaparaoa

If you are looking for some wholesome family fun or something to do with a friend or on your own, ten pin bowling is a lot of fun.

Visit the team near by at Whangaparaoa, a great activity especially if the weather is unkind outside.

Here you will fine plenty of bowling lanes, a video game arcade, and snooker tables. The venue also has a bar licence and refreshments.

Wenderholm Regional Park

Wenderholm Regional Park only 10 mins drive from here and is the first regional park of the Auckland Region, New Zealand. Situated between the estuaries of the Puhoi River and the Waiwera River, on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, the park features a homestead known as Couldrey House, and a carved pouwhenua.

You can enjoy a variety of trail walks for all ages and fitness levels and the secluded beach and estuary it offeres is an ideal spot for a casual BBQ or picnic outing.
